Travel Guide to Egypt Location: Egypt borders are the Mediterranean from north, Sudan from south, Libya from west, and the Red Sea from east.

Language: Official language is Arabic. English, French, and German are frequently spoken.

Time: GMT +2.

Vaccinations: Inoculation is not necessary.

Entry: Child documents of identification must contain a passport picture. You get the Egyptian visa at the airport.

Food and Drink: The Egyptian kitchen combines the best tastes in the Middle East. Meanwhile, there are many dishes for other palates. Do not use the tap water as drinking water.

Electricity: 220 VAC.

Currency: Egyptian Pound (LE) = 100 Piasters (PT). Euro, Sterling Pound, and USD are perfectly accepted.

Tips: It is usual to give for each service a 5-10% tip.

Climate: Hot and dry in summer, warm with little rain in winter.

Clothes: Light cotton clothes in summer and warmer clothes for colder evenings in winter are recommended. Sun protection, sun glasses, and head coverage are not to be forgotten.

Religion: The majority of the Egyptians are Muslims. Please omit kisses on the road and avoid walking topless. Kindly remember that those travelers who treat their hosts with respect will be treated likewise.

Locals: Egyptians are nice, safe, and generous by nature. However it is good to exercise safe travel practices. Do not flash too much money. Always carry enough but not too much. A good couple of phrases to remember are "assalamo aleikom" which means "hello" and "shokran" which means "thank you". Otherwise do not worry too much. Every one comes here to have fun.

Safety: Usually there is nothing to worry about. Diving accidents are usually associated with divers who are here for the first time and amazed by the beautiful corals and warm water or divers who do not dive with a local guide. Our job is to allow you enjoy diving safely.
